The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School is essentially an urban based school located at Jowai in West Jaintia Hills District. The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School Jowai is one of the Higher Secondary School in the District offering courses in all the 3 (three) Stream i.e, Arts, Science & Commerce. The school is situated at Jowai town which is the Headquarter of the West Jaintia Hills District. Jowai itself has a great historical significance where U Kiang Nangbah the great Jaintia freedom fighter was born and was publicly hanged at Iawmusiang, Jowai on the30th December, 1862 by the British. Jowai is also the Headquarterof the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi which is under the Presbyterian Church of India.


  The School is a co-educational Institution establishedon 16, Febuary 1988 by the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod which after the bifurcation of the Synod falls under the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi and registered under the Meghalaya Societies Registration Acts XII of 1983 (Vide No. SR/JH/KJPSMHSSJ-1146/29 of 2011) in the office of the Joint Registrar of Societies Jaintia Hills District, Jowai.


  The School was established with the aim to meet the long felt needs and aspiration of the youth, parents and residents of Jowai town and its adjoining areas and Jaintia Hills at large, particularly the vast majority of economically disadvantages students who could not afford to pursue their studies outside the district. The school is committed to striving for achievements of high academic standard and excellence in all streams of education and make it an institution of excellence.
