The KJP Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School Jowai was established on the 16th February 1988 as Co-educational Institution by the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod with the purpose to impart sound education, intellectual, moral and physical to the pupils and to prepare them to be good and useful servant and citizen of the country. The courses of studies are designed to prepare the pupils for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination of Meghalaya Board of School Education.
The Secondary Section was brought under the Govt. Adhoc Grant since March 1989 with a mere lumpsum grant of Rs. 6000/- only pm, but by the year 2011 the Government enhanced the Adhoc Grant to the lumpsum amount of Rs. 49,000/- only pm.
In 1994 and 1996 the school was upgraded into Higher Secondary School Level of Arts Stream and Science Stream respectively under the Deficit Scheme of the Meghalaya Govt. In 2010, the school has reached another milestone by opening a new stream i.e the Commerce Stream which was completely run and manage by the KJP Synod Mihngi without any grant from the government. Therefore, through this write up and appeal the Managing Committee expect a financial favour from your good office in order to ease the burden of expenditures.
